Wedding Speech Tips

Hi there. My name is Alex Smith, and I welcome you to my blog that contains wedding speech tips.
It wasn’t that long ago that my best friend Jason asked me to be the best man at his wedding. I was thrilled that he entrusted me with such a big honor.
Jason and I have been best buddies since grade school and I wanted to make his wedding experience something to remember. My main focus was on putting together a bachelor party he wouldn’t forget.
Once the bachelor party was over, it started to dawn on me that I was going to have to give a toast at the reception. I had never before given a speech in public and I slowly started to feel a fear come over me. Not only did I have a speech to prepare, but I was hoping my “masterpiece” would at least come off as a funny wedding toast.
I wasn’t sure where to begin and time was sneaking up on me rapidly. It didn’t help that all of my buddies were taking a lot of enjoyment out of my dilemma.
I turned my attention to the internet in the hopes of getting some good info. After quite a bit of searching, I stumbled upon a website that gave a guide on writing a wedding toast with a ton of different example speeches.
The guide sold for less than $20, which seemed reasonable enough. It also came with an 8 week money back guarantee so I figured I had nothing to lose by checking it out.
Boy am I glad I did.
I paid for the guide with my credit card and as soon as my payment was processed, I was able to download it to my computer immediately. Talk about convenient!
Within minutes of paying I was breezing through the guide and it was like a light bulb went on inside my head. The guide gave me the perfect process to follow and suddenly I had a swarm of ideas down on paper.
In a slight form of plagiarism (or borrowing as I prefer to call it), I copied from the examples in the book and blended them in with some personal stories. Before I knew it I whipped together a speech to be proud of.
I followed a few of the best practices that were outlined in the guide and by the day of the wedding I was pumped to do my thing. My fear of speaking in public was gone because I knew I’d done all the prep work to give a kick butt speech.
Needless to say, my toast was a hit. It was a great feeling having strangers come up to me throughout the reception and tell me how much they appreciated my speech. What a great thing for the ego.
I’ve since given a few more speeches and toasts and I’ve used the same principals outlined in the guide to prepare them. Once you know the steps to follow, it really is easy.
